From humble beginnings in 2021, Carl J. Cox has led this podcast with a mission to help leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers define and measure success in their lives and businesses.
From Hospital Bed to Big Goals
It all started with a life-changing moment. In 2020, Carl found himself in a hospital bed, recovering from a burst appendix. With tubes and wires attached, he set three audacious goals:
- Write a book
- Run a marathon
- Start a podcast
Fast forward to today, those goals have been achieved:
- His book Lost at CEO became a #1 bestseller in 12 Amazon categories.
- He completed the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon.
- The Measure Success Podcast has grown into a top 2% global podcast.
What 200 Episodes Have Taught Us
One of the greatest joys of hosting this podcast has been learning from incredible guests—CEOs, entrepreneurs, athletes, and thought leaders. Each guest has shared their unique take on success, but common themes have emerged:
- Resilience – Every successful person has faced setbacks. What matters is how they bounce back and move forward.
- Goal Setting – Bold goals stretch us and transform who we become along the way.
- Balance – Many guests emphasize the importance of aligning professional achievements with personal priorities.
