Why We’re Building the 40-Hour Fix Strategy Course
This week, I want to share a behind-the-scenes look at our new 40-hour strategy course we’re launching in Q2, and, more importantly, why we decided to build it in the first place.
Over the years, one pattern has shown up again and again in conversations with business owners and leadership teams. Most people don’t lack effort or ambition. What they lack is a clear, repeatable way to think about strategy and turn it into action.
The Gap We Keep Seeing
Many leaders want to be more intentional about growth. They want to make better decisions, align their teams, and stop reacting to the loudest issue in the room.
At the same time, not everyone wants, or needs, a full consulting engagement right away. Some leaders want to understand the work themselves. They want to know why a strategy works, not just what to do next.
That gap is what this course is designed to fill.
Why 40 Hours
Strategy takes time. Real thinking can’t be rushed.
We designed this as a 40-hour course because it allows space to:
- Learn the concepts
- Apply them directly to your business
- Reflect, adjust, and refine
This isn’t about consuming content. It’s about doing the work.
How the Course Is Structured
The course is organized into four stages, each focused on a core part of strategy development and execution. Each stage builds on the one before it and is released sequentially. Every stage will have broken into smaller segments (think 20-minute courses) to easily digest.
You move at your own pace, but the structure keeps you focused on what matters most at each step.
By the time you complete all four stages, you won’t just have more knowledge. You’ll have:
- A documented growth strategy
- Clear priorities tied to execution
- A planning process you can repeat year after year
Who This Course Is For
This course is designed for business owners and leaders who want to build strategy capability inside their organization.
It’s for people who:
- Want structure without rigidity
- Prefer practical tools over theory
- Want to understand strategy well enough to run it themselves
It’s not designed for people looking for shortcuts or templates to copy without thinking. Strategy only works when it’s understood and owned.

Why This Matters
Too many businesses confuse activity with progress. Teams stay busy, but direction stays fuzzy. Strategy becomes something discussed once a year and forgotten by February.
Our goal with this course is to change that.
Strategy should be a discipline through action, something you revisit, test, and improve over time. When leaders have a clear framework and a repeatable process, better decisions follow.
This course is one way we’re helping leaders build that discipline.
What’s Next
We’ll share more details as we get closer to the Q2 launch, including what each stage covers and how this course fits into the broader 40 Strategy approach.
If you want strategy to become a capability inside your business, this course was built with you in mind.

Just for Fun
One of my favorite times of the year is going to the gym when it is packed in early January. The parking lot is full and people are starting with so many good intentions. Squash courts, pickleball courts, basketball, weights, strength training, classes, all full.
I also look forward to six weeks from now when there is more space in the gym. Hopefully, you are still in there. 🙂
